Hard to believe built season is around the corner! The Joliet Cyborgs don’t take off season as a break, we take it as a time to do some improvements.
That’s right folks the Joliet Cyborgs are headed to the world championships in St.Louis!!!! We were invited to go at the end of the Midwest Regional! We will be down there April 27-30. While we have been invited its now time for us to raise enough money for us to actual get to the championships. We are in the final stages of a pancake breakfast, and have a gofundme page. Hello Cyborgs fans!! Its been a while since our last update so we are going to give you the run down of whats going on. Our build season went great and we just got done with our first competition in Milwaukee. We had a tough run at the competition but we were able to make it into the quarter finals! This coming weekend though we will be participating in our second competition at the UIC Pavilion. Our first competition gave us the opportunity to improve upon our mistakes for the second one. We hope you will join us in cheering on our robot this Friday and Saturday!
That’s right the build season has started and we are working hard as ever! When we learned the challenge we immediately spent time to learn the rules and different challenges this season will bring. Once we went over that the team split up and started working on some ideas for what the robot could do. Now we have whittled down the different ideas and are almost ready to finalize the build. We can’t tell you how excited we are to begin this season and don’t worry, you can check back here to keep up to date on our activities!
Thanks to all the teams who came out to our Dodge Ball fundraiser, it was a great time! We had many good teams compete but like all competitions only one came in first place. So congratulations go out to the Dodge-Fathers for taking home the gold!!
That’s right folks its that time of year. The Joliet Cyborgs will be hosting our annual Dodge Ball tournament on December 1st from 6-9 at night over at the Joliet Central campus. Packets for your teams will be available shortly so start thinking about who will be on your team and stay tuned for more information!
How’s it going Cyborg fans, we’re here to let you in on our daily operations now that were back. So the build team and the design team are working on getting as best prepared for the upcoming build season as they can be. Our programming team is reviewing code and thinking of new ways to improve the ways we code our robot. The media team is working on finding new sponsors willing to give us a donation. We will let you know when anything changes so stay tuned!
